KUALA LUMPUR: Lafarge Malayan Cement Bhd's net profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2007 (FY07) soared 64.79% to RM287.83 million from RM174.66 million a year ago driven mainly by the higher domestic and export revenues and better plant performance, partly offset by higher operating costs.
Revenue for the year rose 4.6% to RM2.17 billion from RM2.08 billion a year ago while earnings per share (EPS) stood at 21 sen.
The company has declared an interim gross dividend of 20 sen per share for FY07, bringing the total net dividend for FY07 to RM125.75 million, which is payable on May 6.
For the fourth quarter, Lafarge's net profit climbed 20.36% to RM88.94 million from RM73.9 million a year ago.
Revenue increased 7.71% to RM542.48 million from RM503.64 million while EPS was at 7.2 sen. No dividend was declared for the quarter.
