Lafarge Marks 60 Years in Malaysia


RAWANG: TO mark its 60th anniversary in Malaysia, Lafarge Malaysia Bhd has launched its new corporate brand positioning of “Building Better Cities”.


The proposition is being applied worldwide within the group and has been born out of a recognition the world is rapidly changing with more and more people choosing to live in cities and an increasing focus on the need to drive sustainable development, said president and chief executive officer Bradley Mulroney.


“We are honoured to have had the opportunity to shape the Malaysia known to the world today, having been part of the nation’s growth since the 1950s.


“As Malaysia continues on its growth trajectory, we will continue to contribute to its development through supporting its infrastructure, and in particular will support the government’s aim of providing affordable, quality housing for all Malaysians.


At Lafarge, we believe that access to affordable housing is essential for a better nation and should be available for all Malaysians,” he said in a statement.


With a focus on ensuring that its solutions meet the needs of the local market, global solutions will be tailored to local construction needs at the company’s upcoming Construction Development Laboratory in Petaling Jaya.
