Lafarge Malaysia to play a bigger role in road construction best practices and innovation

Lafarge Malaysia inks a Memorandum of Collaboration (MOC) with Kumpulan IKRAM (IKRAM) to jointly promote innovation and best practices for road construction and soil testing projects in the country.

IKRAM was the Research & Development (R&D) division of Public Works Department (JKR) since 1967 before its privatisation in 1996. It is positioned as the Center of Excellence for total infrastructure solutions and remain as the first preference by JKR to undertake various testing & engineering consultancy services, particularly in soil mechanics, geotechnics and slope hazard mitigation.

In conjunction with the collaboration, Lafarge unveiled its prefabricated cabin lab and mobile soil testing laboratories, the first to be introduced by Lafarge in Southeast Asia. The cabin and labs which offers on-site testing, on-site results and on the spot technical consultation, provide Lafarge and IKRAM with a new competitive edge in the industry.
