In compliance with international standard demonstrates highest level of accuracy for testing & calibration
Lafarge Malaysia Berhad's (Lafarge) Construction Development Lab (CDL) has received the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, an international standard that ensures the quality and accuracy of laboratory equipment calibration and sampling analysis.
"We are delighted to receive the accreditation as the ISO/IEC 17025 is the highest standard of quality in the world.
"This is a great differentiator and provides our customers with the assurance that Lafarge's CDL is able to produce precise and accurate results for cement, concrete and soil testing," said Managing Director, Thierry Legrand.
He also said, "Customers can now avail themselves to these new services, and utilise our state-of-art facilities at the CDL to test their building materials."
To date, only a few handful laboratories in the country have been awarded the accreditation.
Lafarge's CDL is a complete building materials lab with cement, concrete, aggregates and soil labs, and an open space lab for testing and doing prototypes. Opened in 2014, the CDL allows Lafarge Malaysia to work closely with its customers to tests, adapt and tailor innovative solutions for their construction needs, with the support of the LafargeHolcim Centre of Research.
The Group dedicates more than RM500 million annually to research and development. The research is undertaken in Lyon, France, the world's leading research facility in building materials. It has more than 200 employees and a portfolio of more than 1,000 patents.
